Having found God through the doctor, she developed an intimate relationship with God. She took to constant reflection, often praying out loud and about each and every seemingly insignificant thing. “Father, where did I put that laundry? Father, what am I going to do about supper tonight?’, ‘Father, help me through today…” Neighborhood children once wrote “Holy Ann lives here. Go in and have a Word” on the door of the Reid home, and the name stuck.

Once mocked, however, she was soon a legend when it was rumored that she was able to perform miracles. One hot summer, the well had gone dry. She prayed an entire day and night, and the next morning was able to pull out two buckets full of fresh water. Soon, neighbors flocked to her side to receive healing and prayer.

Upon her death she was mentioned by clergy across the province and the Mayor of Toronto stated, “This week I had two honors. I met with the President of the USA and I participated in the funeral of Ann Preston. I regard the latter as the greater honor!”

The life of Ann Preston will stir every reader to a deep prayer life and holy living.

When the Bible says, “Jesus the same, yesterday, today and forever,” it is for us to seek and prove the marvellous salvation, which He gives today to everyone who comes to Him with a broken spirit.

At their very first encounter with the Supernatural, their theories tumbled, their supreme confidence in themselves and the communist dogma which they had embraced received a sledge-hammer blow.

It is never without a supreme struggle that a communist gives up. Those sinister and malevolent powers that caused them to be bent upon vengeance, violence and inciting men to murder and bloodshed, left them and a mightier power, the power of God’s love, took over and made them men of positive action, love and sacrifice. The lives before us in this book do not give one any quarter to dismiss them lightly, without frankly facing up to one’s own need. Our prayer is that the Lord of Life may touch the life of every one of my readers too.

When any person pours out his heart to God and asks Him for the cleansing which comes (propitiatory through the ‘prayachitabali’ sacrifice) of Jesus Christ upon the Cross, there comes a transformation, a new life and love into that person.

The world needs to see genuine transformations, such as Dr. Rajendran’s experience. He was freed from greed by the Lord Jesus, and he began to serve many ordinary people till the end of his life.
